Argentina and Morocco will do battle in yet another mouth-watering fixture in the Men’s Olympic Football tournament at the 2024 Paris Games this week, with the tie set to take place at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Etienne on Wednesday.
Following back-to-back Copa America titles, which included a FIFA World Cup win in between, the Argentina senior side are deemed to be the powerhouse in world football currently. With the U23 side aiming to emulate Lionel Messi and company, La Selección are well poised to claim their 3rd Gold medal in the Men’s Football Tournament.
Morocco on the other hand are competing in the Men’s Football tournament for the first time since the 2012 London Games, where they failed to progress from the group stage.
Argentina are currently unbeaten in 2024 after recording three wins and four draws in seven matches during the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament since January.
Morocco head into their first Olympic assignment on the back of two wins and three defeats in each of their last five U23 national team friendly fixtures.
