Guinea will lock horns with hosts France in their second match at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Friday, 26 July.
Kick-off is at 21h00 CAT.
The Group A match is set to take place at the Allianz Riviera in a city and the prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes department in France called Nice.
Guinea started their Group A campaign with a 2-1 defeat to New Zealand on 24 July with Benjamin Waine and Matthew Garbett scoring for the OlyWhites.
The Young National Elephants are placed third in the group standings and they need to secure a win over France to boost their chances of reaching the quarter-finals.
Midfielder Amadou Diawara – who netted Guinea’s consolation goal against New Zealand – will be keen to play an important role in helping his side overcome France.
Meanwhile, France thrashed the United States of America (USA) 3-0 in their opening Group A game on 24 July with Alexandre Lacazette, Loic Bade and Michael Olise scoring.
The Young Blues are placed at the top of the group standings and they will book their spot in the quarter-finals if they claim a victory over Guinea.
Having grabbed a goal and an assist against the USA, Olise will be confident of replicating the same performance when he faces the Young National Elephants.
In Head-to-Head stats, it will be the first-ever meeting between Guinea and France at this level (under-23).
Referee Ilgiz Tantashev from Uzbekistan will be in charge of the match.
