Hannibal Mejbri’s time at Manchester United has come to an end after he completed a permanent move to Burnley on Wednesday.

The Tunisia international, who was born in France, joined United’s academy from Monaco in 2019 and went on to make his first-team debut against Wolves in the Premier League on 23 May 2021.

Mejbri was loaned out to Birmingham following Erik ten Hag’s arrival as manager ahead of the 2022-23 season and he featured 10 times in all competitions for the Red Devils last term before joining Sevilla on a six-month loan in January.

The 21-year-old midfielder made four appearances for Ten Hag’s side during their pre-season tour, but opted to seek regular game-time elsewhere and has joined the Clarets on a four-year deal.

“I’m very excited. Very happy to be here and I can’t wait to see the fans. I have played against Burnley before at Turf Moor and the atmosphere was amazing,” Mejbri told his new club’s official website.

“After speaking to the coach [Scott Parker] the project sounded good to me and hopefully we can make success.”
