Ghana slip-up as Morocco & Senegal win in AFCONQ

African giants Ghana, Morocco and Senegal were all in action in Monday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.


Ghana are still winless in Group F after the Black Stars let a lead slip in their 1-1 draw with Niger in Morocco as Oumar Sako’s late goal cancelled out Alidu Seidu’s opener.


Senegal, on the other hand, recorded their first win in Group L when they edged out a stubborn Burundi side 1-0 courtesy of Ismaila Sarr’s 71st-minute goal from the penalty spot in Malawi.


In Agadir, a stoppage-time goal by Brahim Diaz earned Morocco a 1-0 win over Lesotho sees the Atlas Lions placed at the top of the Group B standings having won their first matches.


While Angola are also placed at the top of Group F with six points from two matches after securing a 2-1 win over Sudan in Luanda courtesy of goals from Randy Nteka and Mabululu.


Lastly, DR Congo secured a 2-0 win over Ethiopia in Tanzania thanks to goals from Theo Bongonda and Fiston Mayele which sees the Leopards placed at the top of Group H standings.
