CS Constantine and Stellenbosch put themselves in a good position to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup group stages after winning their preliminary second-round, first-leg ties.

Two important away goals from Zakaria Benchaa (12′, 27′) gave CS Constantine a 2-0 victory over Nsoatreman at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch boosted their chances of reaching the CAF Confederation Cup proper after beating AS Vita Club 2-0 at the Cape Town Stadium.

Early goals from Thabo Moloisane (7′) and Lehlohonolo Mojela (12′) gave the Maroons hope for their first-ever trek across the continent as they head to Kinshasa next weekend.

The other two match-ups remain in the balance after Etoile Filante and Enyimba played out to a 0-0 draw at the Stade Mamadou Konate, which was also the scoreline between RC Abidjan and ASC Jaraaf at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.

Friday’s CAF Confederation Cup first-leg results:

Nsoatreman 0-2 CS Constantine

Etoile Filante 0-0 Enyimba

RC Abidjan 0-0 ASC Jaraaf

Stellenbosch 2-0 AS Vita Club
