Sundowns headline Wednesday’s list of Betway Premiership fixtures

Mamelodi Sundowns stole the headlines in the latest set of Betway Premiership fixtures after a classy 4-1 win against Marumo Gallants at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday evening.

The reigning league champions made it two wins in two following their latest Betway Premiership assignment after a clinical 4-1 win against Gallants at Loftus Versfeld.

In what was a display of dominant ball play and counter-attacking football, goals by Tashreeq Matthews, Iqraam Rayners, Lucas Ribeiro and Sphelele Mkhulise were enough for Downs to bag maximum points on home soil.

Ronwen Williams, who had little to do on the night, saved Gabadinho Mhango’s penalty in the 85^th minute only for the attacker to add his name to the scoresheet four minutes later.

Elsewhere, Orlando Pirates were at their classy best during a 3-0 win against Polokwane City at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Sea Robbers dominated the game throughout the 90 minutes where goals by Monnapule Saleng and Evidence Makgopa (2) were enough for Jose Riveiro’s men to record their second victory of the season.
