The 2025 AFCON will be the 35th edition of the biennial continental tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and will be held in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
Qualifying for the tournament will take place in three ‘blocks’ in September (Matchday 1 & 2), October (Matchday 3 & 4) and November (Matchday 5 & 6) of 2024. The top two teams in each qualifying group will advance to the AFCON tournament.
Matchday 3 and 4 fixtures are taking place from Thursday 10 October to Tuesday 15 October 2024.
LIVE UPDATES:
23h00: Today’s AFCON qualifiers have seen four teams – Senegal, DR Congo, Angola and Egypt – punch their tickets to the tournament. They join Morocco (hosts), as well as the trio of Algeria, Cameroon and Burkina Faso (who secured their berths in the past two days) for a total of eight confirmed nations.
22h58: Full time, Ethiopia 0-3 Guinea. The Syli National win comfortably to leapfrog into second place in Group H behind already-qualified DR Congo.
22h57: Full time, Comoros 1-1 Tunisia. A hard-fought draw in this Group A clash, as Tunisia remain just one point clear of Comoros at the top of the log (with Gambia only one point further back, and even bottom-placed Madagascar still mathematically in the running).
22h55: Full time, Central Africa 0-4 Morocco. Were the Atlas Lions not already qualified as hosts for 2025, this fourth straight win in Group B would have punched their ticket. CAR remain third in the group, four points adrift of second-placed Gabon.
