Former Manchester United striker’s coach Benni McCarthy believes that he has what it takes to become one of the best coaches in the world as he maps out his immediate future.

The South African football legend spent two seasons with the Red Devils alongside Erik Ten Hag, where he was largely responsible for aligning the club’s attacking department.

After leaving the Premier League giants ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, McCarthy was subsequently linked with a number of opportunities on the African continent, including that of the Bafana job.

Nevertheless, the Porto great recently expressed that he does not limit himself to being an ‘ordinary’ coach.

“The first step is belief in yourself,” McCarthy said on the Whistle Podcast, as per KingFut.

“I had that belief as a player, and I still have it now as a coach, I never limited myself to just being an ordinary player, and I won’t do that with my coaching career.

“I believe I can reach the level of the best coaches in the world with the right club, the right opportunity, and given the chance.”
