‘There are talented players in Africa’

Morocco Beach Soccer head coach Gilberto Da Costa de Souza has expressed that Africa is a hot bed for football talent as his side prepares for the upcoming CAF Africa Cup of Nations Beach Soccer tournament in Egypt.

The showpiece will commence between 19 – 26 October in Hurghada, Egypt, while the winners and runner ups will get the chance to represent the continent at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup next year.

With Moroccan football thriving at the moment, the Brazilian believes that Africa has some of the best emerging players in the game today.

Africa is a place of football talent, and beach soccer is no exception,” de Souza told CAFOnline.

“There are many talented players with potential. As with everything in life, more investment will be needed to continue developing. Countries need to invest in national leagues, coaching courses, exchange programs and more competitions.

“Today, there are more African countries that can achieve good results in the world, as Nigeria and Senegal have already achieved.”
