Saudi Pro League Director of Football Michael Emenalo believes that Mohamed Salah wants to leave Liverpool in the right way as the Egyptian continues to be linked with a move to the Middle East.

Emenalo confirmed that teams in the Saudi Pro League had intentions of signing the Liverpool talisman last season, namely Al-Ittihad, who submitted a £150million offer for the 32-year-old.

The Saudi Pro League Director of Football thus suggested that Salah had unfinished business at Liverpool and that all factors need to be aligned before making crucial decisions.

“The stories that our teams went after him were true, it is true that there was an interest,” Emenalo said, as per Liverpool Echo.

“But just like Victor Osimhen, it’s okay for me to have an interest in signing Mo, but the club have to have an interest in letting him go, and if those things don’t align, you don’t have a deal.

“Very few players do it, but you have to leave the club in the right way. When you are at that level and you have done things, it’s important to leave the club in the right way.”
