Egypt captain Mohamed Salah has moved up on the English Premier League’s all-time top goalscorers’ list after scoring against Arsenal FC on Sunday.
The 32-year-old winger grabbed an 81st-minute goal to ensure that the enthralling encounter ended in a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium in London.
Salah is now level with Robbie Fowler – a retired forward – on the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorers’ list after netting his 163rd goal in England’s top-tier.
“Mohamed Salah is now joint-eighth with Robbie Fowler on the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorers list,” a club statement read.
“Liverpool’s No.11 netted his 163rd goal in the competition by equalising late on during his team’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
“Salah’s 10th Reds strike versus the Gunners took him above Jermain Defoe and level with a fellow Anfield legend in the form of Fowler in the Premier League’s all-time goals ranking.
“Next in the Egyptian’s sights is seventh-placed Thierry Henry, who scored 175 times in the division.”
Salah will be hoping to continue his scoring ways in the Premier League when Liverpool host Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield on Saturday.
