The next phase of the Carling Black Label Knockout Cup will be underway during the course of this weekend, as the remaining eight sides are set to battle it out for a place in the semi-finals of the competition.
On Saturday, 2 November Richards Bay will play the first quarter-final match of the tournament against Cape Town City at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
The KZN outfit edged Sekhukhune United in the Last 16, and will be looking to do the same in this next round against the Capetonians.
Head coach of the Natal Rich Boyz Brandon Truter has highlighted that the chairman of the club is seeking ambitious results and he’s aiming to do his best to deliver.
“The chairman made it clear for us. If there’s any possibility of a cup, he would like a trophy this season,” said Truter.
“The Carling Cup and other cups in the league represent that opportunity. The Carling Cup is the first one of the season. Once you’re in a cup, you need to be in it to win it.”
The headlining fixture later in the day is the clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium.
Kick-off is at 18:00 CAT (SA, GMT+2)
The round of fixtures continues on Sunday, 3 November and the first clash of the day features Marumo Gallants taking on Stellenbosch at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium.
At the same time, TS Galaxy will take on PSL newcomers Magesi at the Mbombela Stadium.
