Ivory Coast and Chad will call time on their AFCON qualifying campaign in a quest for a place in the next tournament which will be hosted next year in Morocco.

The nations will lock horns at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Kick-off is at 18:00 CAT (SA, GMT+2)

The current champions were unsuccessful in their last outing of this campaign, as they suffered a 1-0 loss against Zambia at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Friday.

Despite their recent slump in form however, the Elephants have guaranteed themselves a spot in the next AFCON.

Chad on the other hand, were disappointed as they could only earn a point against Sierra Leone in their 1-1 draw at the Alassane Ouattara Ebimpe Olympic Stadium last Wednesday.

Idriss Diallo, the president of the Ivorian Football Federation says that an assessment needs to take place due to the teams’ back-to-back losses against Sierra Leone and Zambia respectively.

“We will conduct an unflinching review internally with the players, technical staff, and administration to address the shortcomings and inefficiencies,” he wrote on his official Facebook page.

“While also optimally preparing for upcoming challenges, including the 2026 qualifiers.”

In head-to-head stats, Ivory Coast have only faced Les Sao once before and they claimed a 2-0 victory, coincidentally, that meeting was in these AFCON qualifiers.
