Ivory Coast took no prisoners in their 4-0 victory over Chad at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium on Tuesday evening, winning Group G in the process for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The hosts came into the match with determination to recover from their recent losses in their qualifying campaign and the scoreline definitely reflects that it is mission accomplished.
The first goal from the hosts came in the 25th minute through Vakoun Issouf Bayo and from that moment on they began to dominate in the fixture.
Holding more than 70% of possession in the match, Ivory Coast doubled their lead in the 37th minute as Simon Adingira also got his name on the scoresheet.
The visitors went into the break two goals behind, so hope was still had for them to bounce back in the game but two more goals from Emmanuel Agbadou and Our Diakite respectively ensured three points.
Winning Group G, Côte d’Ivoire have booked themselves a ticket to the next Africa Cup of Nations which will be hosted in Morocco in 2025.
