With the CAF Confederations Cup well and truly underway, reigning champions Zamalek could only manage a draw in their 2nd Group D encounter this weekend, while RSB Berkane got one over Stellenbosch FC at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.

Zamalek and Nigerian giants Enyimba recorded a 2-2 draw at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Sunday evening, while Al Masry and Black Bulls shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate in the adjacent Group D fixture.

Seifeddine Jaziri put Zamalek ahead shortly after the half-hour mark before Omar Faraf doubled his side’s advantage in the 40th minute. However, a goal by Ifeanyi Ihemekwele during the first-half stoppage time period gave the Nigerian side a much-needed lifeline heading into the second 45.

Enyimba then clawed their way back into the tie as Ufere Chukwu got his name on the scoresheet in the 57th minute.

Elsewhere, RSB Berkane made it two wins on the spin in their latest CAF Confederations Cup assignment following a 3-1 victory against Stellenbosch FC at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.

Sitting at the top of Group B, goals by Youseff Zghoudi (2) and Reda Hajji were enough for the Moroccan side to bag maximum points on the road.

With Stellies jotting down back-to-back defeats in the CAF Confederations Cup, Steve Barker’s side currently occupy last position in Group B.
