Nigeria coach Daniel Ogunmodede has set his sights on winning the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) title.

This comes after the local-based Super Eagles qualified for the CHAN finals following a 3-1 win over Ghana at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday – winning the tie 3-1 on aggregate.

The emphatic win in Uyo on Saturday ended a six-year absence from the tournament for Nigeria who were held to hold Ghana to a 0-0 draw in the first-leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium in Accra on 22 December.

“We are happy to have given Nigerians a good gift for this yuletide period,” Ogunmodede said on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) website.

“But we will not over-celebrate this achievement and forget the crux of the matter. We will work hard so that we can contend very well for the trophy at the finals in February.”

The 2024 CHAN finals will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from 1 to 28 February 2025.

This will be the first edition to be hosted by three countries.
