NFF sends condolences after Nwabali loses another parent

Nigeria’s number one goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has announced the death of his mother almost two months after his father’s passing.


The 28-year-old, the captain of South African top-flight side Chippa United, lost his father in November 2024.


On 1 January 2025, Nwabali revealed that his mother had passed away on X (formerly known as Twitter).


“Rip mom, worst year of my life already. A very very crazy world indeed,” the bulky keeper wrote. 









The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) also confirmed the sad demise of Nwabali’s mother in a post on social media.


“Our heartfelt condolences to Stanley Nwabali on the loss of his mother,” a statement read.


“Stay strong, Stanley. sending you strength and support during this difficult time. You are not alone; we are all with you.”
