RS Berkane became the first team to book a spot in this season’s CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals following matchday four matches.

The Moroccan side made it four wins from four matches when they claimed a 1-0 win over Mali’s Stade Malien thanks to Imad Riahi’s solitary goal in a Group B match played at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako on Sunday.

At the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South African outfit Stellenbosch FC climbed up to the second spot in Group B behind Berkane after securing a 2-0 win over Angola side CD da Lunda Sul courtesy of Andre De Jong’s brace.

In Group A, the two top teams, Algeria’s CS Constantine and Tanzanian giants Simba SC are both on the brink of advancing to the quarter-finals after registering a 4-0 win and a 1-0 victory over Angola’s Bravos do Maquis, and CS Sfaxien of Tunisia respectively.

Meanwhile, Zamalek remained at the top of Group D standings despite dropping points in their 0-0 draw with fellow Egyptian club Al Masry in a match played at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.

While USM Alger of Algeria are also still at the top of Group C standings following their 1-1 draw with Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas in a match played at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan where Mohamed Benmazouz Salifou cancelled out Diarrassouba’s opening goal.
