Nigerian star Kelechi Iheanacho has completed his transfer to English Championship outfit Middlesbrough on loan.

The 28-year-old forward has joined Boro from top Spanish club Sevilla FC as he returns to England where he played some of his best football.

Iheanacho played just nine matches and scored three goals for Sevilla having joined the La Liga side on a free transfer from Leicester City in July 2024.

“Nigerian international Kelechi Iheanacho has joined the club on loan until the end of the season,” a Middlesbrough statement read.

“The former Manchester City and Leicester City marksman joins from La Liga side Sevilla.”

Iheanacho began his senior career at Manchester City during the 2015/16 season, winning the Football League Cup before moving to Leicester in August 2017.

The lefty was instrumental in Leicester’s 2020/21 FA Cup success, scoring a joint-high four goals across the edition as the club won the trophy for the first time.
