The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) has officially announced Sami Trabelsi as the new head coach of the Carthage Eagles on Monday.
Hamadi Daou and Mohamed Sahli will serve as assistant coaches under Trabelsi, replacing experienced Tunisian coach Faouzi Benzarti, whose contract was terminated “amicably” last October.
Wassim Moalla and Aymen Jedidi will serve as physical trainers, while Hichem Jaziri has been named goalkeeper coach. Furthermore, Helmi Kechaou and Walid Ben Tamansourt will serve as video analysts.
“The Federation has decided in its session held today Monday 10 February 2025 to appoint Mr. Sami Trabelsi as a national elector and has definitively agreed with Mr. Hamadi Aldo to be in a national coach plan, and he will also meet with Mr. Mohamed Al-Sahli when he returns to the homeland the day after tomorrow Wednesday regarding the coach plan My home country as well,” a statement read.
“The national elector selected Mr. Ayman Al-Jadidi, Waseem Ma’ali for development and physical fitness, Mr. Hisham Al-Jaziri as a coach of the guards, Mr. Helmy Al-Kasho and Walid Bentmansourt for technical analysis.”
Trabelsi – a former Tunisia international with over 80 caps – will be in his second stint as the Carthage Eagles head coach having been in charge of the national team between 2011 and 2013.
He will start his tenure by taking charge of the Carthage Eagles when they face Liberia and Malawi in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
