Kaizer Chiefs have announced the sale of Thatayaone ‘TT’ Ditlhokwe to Libyan giants Al-Ittihad for a reported fee of R15 million.

The Botswana international struggled to nail down a regular place in the first team following his arrival from SuperSport United in July 2023 and he started just seven games in the Betway Premiership this season under Nasreddine Nabi.

Ditlhokwe dropped further down the pecking order after the Glamour Boys signed defenders Inacio Miguel, Rushwin Dortley, Bongani Sam and Bradley Cross ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

The 26-year-old centre-back, who can also operate on the left-side of defence, departs Amakhosi having made 32 appearances across all competitions during his 18-month stay at Naturena.

“It was not an easy decision for us when Al-Ittihad approached us regarding TT,” Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr said in a statement.

“We engaged the player and during our discussions, he expressed his desire to move to Libya for further experience and opportunities. As a club, we didn’t want to impede his progress and we appreciate his professionalism and discipline.

“Although we will miss him, we believe this is a fantastic opportunity for him and we would like to thank him for his dedicated service to Chiefs and wish him the best of luck in his new venture.”
