Al Hilal are determined to overturn their deficit against Al Ahly in the second leg of the CAF Champions League final at the Cheikha Ould Boïdiya Stadium on Tuesday evening at 21:00 CAT.
While Al Hilal lost the first leg, they enter the match with momentum, having secured victories in their last two domestic league outings.
Al Ahly, conversely, have stumbled recently, losing their last two matches in the Egyptian League Cup against El Gaish and ENPPI. However, they bounced back with a crucial 1-0 victory over Al Hilal in the first leg at the Cairo International Stadium.
Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller emphasized the team’s relentless pursuit of titles, stating, “The current edition will be very difficult as all the teams share the same ambition. But the pressure from our fans is a positive force that drives us to achieve and set new goals.”
Captain Mohamed El Shenawy echoed his coach’s determination: “Our goal is to win this title for the third time in a row. We’re a generation used to chasing trophies and facing pressure, and we’ll take it step by step to reach our ultimate objective.”
Key players to watch include Al Hilal’s Ivorian goalkeeper Issa Fofana, who will be tasked with keeping a clean sheet against Al Ahly’s potent attack.
For Al Ahly, right-back Mohamed Hany, who scored in the first leg, will be looking to continue his impressive form, contributing both defensively and offensively.
