Fenerbahce head coach Jose Mourinho is confident that Youssef En-Nesyri will regain his scoring touch to aid their title push in the final seven games of the season.
The Morocco international has made a massive impact on the Yellow Canaries following his arrival from Sevilla in July 2024, scoring 16 goals in 27 Super Lig appearances while also providing five assists.
En-Nesyri has bagged another four goals in the Turkish Cup plus six in the Europa League, making him the club’s top scorer with 26 across all competitions.
The 27-year-old striker’s form took a dip during Ramadan and he has gone three outings without a goal, most recently coming off the bench for the final nine minutes in the 3-1 win over Sivasspor on Sunday.
However, Mourinho believes En-Nesyri will soon be back to his best as the Istanbul giants look to haul in arch-rivals Galatasaray, who are three points clear of them at the summit.
“About En-Nesyri… He was scoring for fun,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by GZT. “He scored 26 goals without penalties.
“He went through a difficult period. He lost some of his strength during Ramadan but he started to regain that strength. He showed that he is back. We will have him in the remaining seven matches without a doubt.”
