Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro believes the future is bright for his youthful team, despite their heart-breaking CAF Champions League exit.

Pirates lost 3-2 on aggregate to Pyramids in the semifinals last week Friday, and it was a disappointment for Riveiro and his charges after having an almost perfect campaign in the continental competition.

The Spanish tactician will be leaving the Buccaneers at the end of the season, opting not to renew his contract with the club.

The team has been lifted by the heroics of their youngsters such as Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Relebohile Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota.

Riveiro believes that the trio are going to pay off as an investment for the club, and they will yield the results in the future.

They are already important players at 19-20 years old, but they still have a lot of things to improve on,” Riveiro said as per IOL.

It’s a very good new thing for the club as well because the future is looking bright for Orlando Pirates as they have a young and ambitious squad.

Now, with one more experience in the Champions League, they have a lot of things to celebrate — but not [Friday] obviously.

We are sad, we are not happy [after the defeat], but the future is definitely looking bright for the club.”
