Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah claims that this season’s Premier League title success is even better than the one in 2020, and tastes much sweeter in the absence of former players and manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Merseyside team won their 20th league title on Sunday as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 5-1, wrapping up a one-sided title race to draw level with Manchester United.
Salah scored on Sunday, moving ahead of Sergio Aguero as the highest scoring overseas player in Premier League history with 185 goals.
The Egyptian insisted that their 2025 title win is much better than their previous success.
“Incredible, incredible. To win the Premier League here with Liverpool, with the fans, is incredible,” he said according to TeamTalk.
“This is way better, 100%. Without Sadio [Mane], without Jurgen, without Bobby [Firmino], without everybody…it feels more special with the fans.
“I don’t want to take credit from anyone, but we have a different group now, a different manager, so to show we can do it again is something special.”
He added, “[Manager Arne Slot] is very honest, he’s quite tough – Dutch – but it’s his personality, but he made our lives easier because he [tells you] what he wants you to do. I’m glad we won it here.”
Salah has had a career-best season with 33 goals and 28 assists in 48 appearances, contributing a goal or assist every 75 minutes.
A new two-year contract ensures Liverpool fans will enjoy more of his brilliance.
