Hosts Egypt will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), while Sierra Leone seek to maintain their unbeaten start.
Group A leaders Sierra Leone get the ball rolling on Saturday, May 3 when they face Tanzania at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia.
The Shooting Stars will be in buoyant mood after they dispatched Rogerio Micale’s side 4-1 on April 30 to move to the head of the group on four points.
The Ngorongoro Boys bring up the rear, having kicked off their AFCON campaign with a 1-0 loss to South Africa on April 30.
Later on in the evening, Egypt will be determined to get their title challenge back on track against Zambia at the same venue.
The Young Pharaohs are second in the group on three points after beating Amajita 1-0 in their tournament opener on April 27, although they’ll be licking their wounds after suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Mustapha Dumbuya’s side three days prior.
Junior Chipolopolo put a point on the board first up as they held Sierra Leone to a 0-0 draw on the opening day of the African showpiece, placing them fourth in the group.
