U20 AFCON: Nigeria & Morocco eye 2nd successive win

Former champions Nigeria and Morocco will be looking to make it two wins in a row at the 2025 CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.


The two teams will meet at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in Cairo, Egypt, where three points will be at stake in a Group B encounter.


The Flying Eagles of Nigeria started their Group B campaign with a 1-0 victory over Tunisia courtesy of Auwal Ibrahim’s first-half goal on Thursday.


While the Young Atlas Lions of Morocco emerged as 3-2 winners against Kenya, thanks to three goals from Mohamed Zabiri (brace) and Reda Laalaoui.


Meanwhile, Tunisia and Kenya are scheduled to meet at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in another Group B match.


Both teams will be desperate for a win, which would boost their ambitions of progressing to the knockout phase and qualifying for the 2025 U20 World Cup in Chile.
