Senegalese youngster set for European move

Turkish club Fenerbahçe are closing in on the signing of Senegalese talent Amara Diouf.

The 16-year-old is set to join the Turkish giants from Génération Foot in his home country, according to both Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğluand and Yahoo Sports.

Diouf shone at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2023, captaining Senegal to their first title in the history of the competition and winning top scorer in the process. He subsequently made his debut for the Senegalese men’s national team in 2024.

The winger reportedly drew interest from Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid before Fenerbahçe joined the race for his signature.

Fenerbahçe finished their season on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Konyaspor at the Şükrü Saracoğlu in Istanbul. They ended their campaign in second place on the Süper Lig log, 11 points behind winners Galatasaray.
