Chiefs to face Utrecht in pre-season test

Kaizer Chiefs will face off against FC Utrecht in the Netherlands on 11 July as part of the club’s preseason tour.

AmaKhosi revealed earlier this month that the team would be in the Netherlands for a pre-season tour from 3-19 July.

Although Chiefs have yet to announce any of their other opponents for their preseason tour, the fixture was confirmed by the Dutch club.

In a statement regarding pre-season released on their official website, Utrecht announced that they will face Chiefs in preparation for the upcoming season.

“The next opponent will follow on 11 July. The most popular club in South Africa will be the opponent: Kaizer Chiefs. This match will also be played behind closed doors,” the statement reads.

The Nedbank Cup winners’ preseason will begin on Friday 20 June, with some players expected to join only after the weekend due to international duty in the COSAFA Cup.
