Banyana Banyana have boycotted their training in Morocco ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, staging a sit-in due to unpaid wages.
It has been reported that the players have not received their salaries for Banyana Banyana camps held in April and June ahead of the tournament.
Banyana Banyana arrived in Morocco on Wednesday and are staying in Casablanca before they are scheduled to move to Oujda on Thursday, which will act as their home base for the group stage of the tournament.
Someone close to the camp, who wishes not to be named, stated: “They have not been paid since the April camp when they played [against] Malawi”.
