Southampton FC have announced their agreement with Trabzonspor over the services of Nigeria international Paul Onuachu.
The towering center forward will rejoin the Turkish Super Lig club after they agreed to reportedly pay €8 million to the English Championship side.
Onuachu played some of his best football for Trabzonspor during the 2023/24 season on loan from Southampton, as he netted 17 goals in 25 matches.
“Southampton Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed with Trabzonspor for the transfer of striker Paul Onuachu,” a club statement read.
“The 31-year-old is set to leave St Mary’s after a two-and-a-half year spell, in which he scored four goals in 40 appearances, to join the Turkish side, who he was also loaned to during the 2023/24 season.
“We thank Paul for his efforts during his time as a Saints player and wish him well.”
The 31-year-old, who has three goals in 24 Nigeria caps, will be keen to regain his old form and secure his place in the Super Eagles’ 2025 AFCON squad.
