Algeria international Billal Brahimi has completed his move to one of the biggest Brazilian clubs, Santos FC.

The winger has agreed to transfer to Santos after signing a contract that will expire at the end of 2026 and this will be his first experience outside the European continent.

This comes after Brahimi terminated his contract with French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice by mutual consent on September 1 and he became a free-agent.

The former Middlesbrough, Brest, Sint-Truiden, Le Mans and Angers player has now found a new home in Brazil, where he will play alongside Santos superstar Neymar.

“The attacker Brahimi is an international reinforcement for Santos in the 2025 season,” a club statement read.

“At 25 years old, the French naturalized Algerian arrives at Peixão with a contract until the end of 2026 after his stint with Nice, from France.”

Born in France, Brahimi holds French and Algerian nationalities and played for the former nation’s national under-19 team in 2018.

In May 2022, he was called up to the Algeria national team for two 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Uganda and Tanzania.

He made his debut against Uganda in June 2022 and has since earned four Algeria caps.
