Algeria could clinch qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Thursday with a win against Somalia at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Bir El Djir, Algeria.

Kick-off is at 6pm CAT.

Somalia has struggled in its qualifying campaign, losing seven games and drawing one to claim a single point.

In its most recent outings, Somalia lost 3-0 to Guinea and 2-0 to Uganda.

The Ocean Stars have conceded 16 goals and only scored three in their eight games. Their singular point came from a goalless draw with Guinea in March and the East African nation will look to add more points to its tally as its campaign comes to an end.

Algeria is on the cusp of securing qualification. The nation sits at the top of group G with 19 points, four ahead of second-placed Uganda.

The Desert Foxes have managed six wins, one draw and one loss in their eight games played and claimed a 3-1 win over Botswana before being held to a goalless draw against Guinea in September.

With its four point lead over Uganda, a win for Algeria would see the nation advance to its fifth World Cup with a game to spare.
