With the CAF 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers drawing to a close, Lesotho and Zimbabwe are scheduled to shake hands in their final Group C assignment at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Monday evening. Kick-off is at 6:00pm CAT.

As it stands, Lesotho will head into matchday 10 sitting in fifth place, while Zimbabwe occupy last spot in Group C.

Zimbabwe bagged their fifth point of their qualifying campaign last time out, as the Warriors jotted down an eventful 0-0 draw with South Africa on Friday.

Lesotho on the other hand, recorded their fourth loss in nine qualifiers played so far following their 2-1 result against Nigeria at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday.

Speaking after his side’s 0-0 draw with South Africa, Zimbabwe head coach Michael Nees lauded the Warriors’ ability to stick together as a unit.

“We showed what we said. We want to be fair sportsmen because of the importance of the AFCON and for many other reasons. I think we showed that we are a team, a real team that sticks together,” Nees said.

“I was impressed especially after the red card how we were fighting to the limit and with a little bit of luck we would have almost won the game.

“But we must also admit South Africa also played very strong and had their chances. Also a game between neighbours – I think it’s a good draw.”
