Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch return to domestic duty on Wednesday as they face Polokwane City, Siwelele and Lamontville Golden Arrows respectively in the Betway Premiership.
Kick-off for all fixtures is at 7:30pm CAT.
In CAF club action at the weekend, Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch both drew 0-0 with AS Simba and 15 de Agosto in their respective Confederations Cup fixtures, while Orlando Pirates’ Champions League hopes took a hit as they fell 3-0 to Saint-Éloi Lupopo.
While their continental campaign may not be going to plan, Pirates are thriving in the Betway Premiership.
The Buccaneers are third on the log, trailing top-of-the-table Mamelodi Sundown by six points but with three games in hand.
Despite losing their first two league games of the season, they are on a five-game win streak in the league and have not lost a game in domestic competition since 12 August.
Pirates swept Polokwane City aside in their first game of the 2025/26 season, winning 2-0 en route to claiming a fourth successive MTN8 title.
Their opponents on Wednesday, Polokwane City, sit tied with the Buccaneers in points, but have played two more games in the league.
Rise and Shine are sixth on the league standings with four wins, three draws and two losses from nine Betway Premiership games.
Although Polokwane City were booted from the Carling Knockout by Durban City in an extra time thriller, Rise and Shine returned to the win column in their final league game before the international break, beating Sekhukhune 1-0.
They will look to take revenge for their earlier loss to the Buccaneers in the MTN8 first round in August as they return to Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.
Kaizer Chiefs have struggled since parting ways with head coach Nasreddine Nabi. Since his exit, they have failed to win a game in domestic competition.
Due to their impressive start in the Betway Premiership, AmaKhosi sit fourth on the table with 15 points from eight fixtures having won four games, drawn three and lost one.
They will be looking to return to the win column as they seek to turn FNB Stadium into a fortress.
Siwelele escaped the relegation zone with their second win of the season, beating Marumo Gallants 1-0 on 28 September.
They sit 14th on the log with seven points from nine games.
The newcomers exited the Carling Knockout before the international break after a positive performance against Orlando Pirates thanks to a late screamer from Mbekezeli Mbokazi.
Stellenbosch have struggled this season and have managed only one win from nine league games. They have lost five and drawn three games, leaving them tied with Chippa United on six points at the bottom of the table.
They managed to advance to the quarterfinals of the Carling Knockout before the international break by beating Kaizer Chiefs on penalties.
Lamontville Golden Arrows are building momentum in the league, having won their last two games. They sit ninth on the table with 13 points taken from four wins, four losses and one draw.
Abafana Bes’thende went into the international break on a high, having kicked Sekhukhune from the Carling Knockout with a 3-1 win. They will look to keep building as they travel to Athlone Stadium.
