Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen was pleased to have helped Galatasaray SK make it back-to-back wins in the UEFA Champions League.
The 26-year-old striker grabbed a brace as the Turkish giants defeated Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt 3-1 at the RAMS Park on Wednesday night.
Therefore, Osimhen became the first Galatasaray player to score in seven consecutive games in major European competitions.
“I didn’t win the award alone. I hope my other teammates win as well,” Osimhen told reporters after the game.
“I want to help the team, if not with my goals, then with my tackling and assists. “I’m not breaking these records alone. Thanks to the entire team.”
The former SSC Napoli marksman broke the record, which was set by Burak Yilmaz between October 2012 and March 2013.
Osimhen will be looking to extend his record when Galatasaray take on Ajax Amsterdam in the Champions League at the Johan Cruijff Arena on November 5.
