The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has announced an international friendly match against the reigning World champions, Argentina.

The game against Lionel Messi-captained Argentina is scheduled to be played at the 11 de Novembro Stadium or Estádio Nacional 11 de Novembro in the Angolan city of Talatona on November 14.

Angola’s football governing body hailed the match as a ‘historic’ with the Southern African country set to celebrate its independence from Portugal.

“ANGOLA vs ARGENTINA: FRIENDLY MATCH CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE,” a statement read.

“The Angolan National Team will have a historic encounter against the Argentinian National Team in a friendly match scheduled for November 14th at 5:00 PM at the 11 de Novembro Stadium.

“The match is part of the celebrations of Angola’s 50th anniversary of independence and promises to be a true football spectacle.”

Palancas Negras will be using the friendly as preparation for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Morocco.

They will take on South Africa (December 22), Zimbabwe (December 26) and Egypt (December 29).
