Tunisia has the honour of playing in the opening game of the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup, facing Syria in Doha on Monday.
Kick-off is at 3pm CAT.
The Eagles of Carthage are unbeaten in their last five games, having won three and drawn two, including a 1-1 stalemate with Brazil on 18 November in an international friendly.
Tunisia was unbeaten in its 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying, rounding up qualifying with six wins this year without conceding a goal.
The nation’s only losses this year have come in international friendlies, where it was bested by Egypt and Morocco.
Tunisia enjoyed a strong run at the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2021, also held in Qatar, where the nation fell to Algeria in the final. There is no doubt that the north African nation will be aiming to reach the final for a second tournament in a row.
Syria is also unbeaten in its last five fixtures, having managed four wins and one draw.
The side has been much improved under the guidance of former Spain youth coach Jose Lana, losing just one game in 2025 and pushing past Sudan 2-0 in Arab Cup qualifying last week.
