Tottenham Hotspur has stated it is looking into claims that one of its players, Yves Bissouma, was filmed using nitrous oxide.

This is according to BBC Sport.

The Sun published a video of the player allegedly huffing the gas commonly referred to as “Hippy Crack” on its website on Saturday evening.

“We are looking into the events and it will be dealt with as an internal matter,” a Tottenham spokesperson told BBC Sport.

The player has since scrubbed any trace of the club from his Instagram account.

Bissouma was reprimanded for the same infraction in 2023 after being pictured publicly using the substance and was handed a one-game ban.

Possession of nitrous oxide for recreational use became a criminal offense in the United Kingdom in 2023 and carries a penalty of up to two years in prison.

The Malian international, who has 42 caps to his name, joined Spurs from Brighton and Hove Albion at the start of the 2022/23 season but is yet to feature for the club this season under new head coach Thomas Frank. He is currently recovering from a knee injury.

His contract at the London club is up at the end of the season.
