Libyan Giants Al-Ittihad SC have parted ways with head coach Khaled Ben Yahia.

This is according to African Football journalist Micky Junior.

The coach’s departure comes as a shock.

The 66-year-old joined the club on 30 October, following their 2-1 loss to Egypt’s Al Masry over two legs of their second preliminary round of CAF Confederation Cup qualification.

Ben Yahia, who formerly managed Espérance (ES Tunis) and MC Alger, was in charge for a total of 10 games, during which his side were unbeaten with nine wins and one draw.

The club sits atop group two of the Libyan Premiership and advanced to the round of 16 of the Libyan Cup.

Despite his stellar record, the club has reportedly opted to go another direction. However, Al-Ittihad is yet to announce his departure on its social media platforms.
