Thembinkosi Lorch has continued to impress for his new club, netting in Al-Ittihad SC’s 4-1 win over Al Shomooa at the Tripoli International Stadium on Friday.
The 32-year-old has continued his fine form since joining the Libyan side from Wydad AC. He had now bagged two goals and one assist in four games for his new outfit.
The club remains undefeated in the Libyan Premier League with 10 wins and one draw from 11 games. Only Al Ahly Tripoli is ahead of Al-Ittihad with a slim one point lead, having played one more game and managed one more draw.
In his last 10 games in all competitions, Lorch has registered four goals and three assists and is making his case for inclusion in the Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the USA.
The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns star last represented South Africa in Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying in 2022 and will be looking to add to his nine existing caps.
