Ajax Cape Town

Nickname:
The Urban Warriors
Founded:
1999

Founded in 1999 via the amalgamation of Cape Town Spurs and Seven Stars, and affiliated to their ‘mother club’ Ajax Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Ajax Cape Town have established themselves as one of South Africa’s leading football clubs.

Known as the Urban Warriors and coached by former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Roger De Sa, Ajax are renowned for their excellent youth programme which has produced the likes of Steven Pienaar and Thulani Serero.

The Cape Town club finished the 2014/15 season in fifth place on the Absa Premiership log and were runners-up in the Nedbank Cup, narrowly losing out to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ajax have won two League Cups and one National Cup title in their relatively short history.
