Lamontville Golden Arrows ended the 2016/17 season on a good note as they finished eighth in the Absa Premiership and they qualified for the 2017/18 MTN Top 8 Cup.

This is Abafana Bes'thende's third season in the Absa Premiership since winning promotion from the National First Division (NFD) during the 2014/15 campaign.

Since the club was established in 1943, it has won the 1999/00 First Division Coastal Stream title, 2009 MTN Top 8 Cup and 2014/15 National First Division (NFD) title.

The KwaZulu-Natal outfit are under the guidance of Clinton Larsen, who guided Bloemfontein Celtic to the 2012 Telkom KnockOut Cup trophy.

The retired midfielder will be assisted by Mandla Ncikazi, the former Maritzburg United head coach and the duo are expected to ensure that the club finishes in the top eight once again.

Musa Bilankulu, Matome Mathiane and Knox Mutizwa are Abafana Bes'thende's key players.
