Tournament Review:

Although they are rated as Africa’s number one footballing nation, Algeria's exit from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament left a sour taste for the technical team.

They started on high as they defeated South Africa 3-1, before losing 1-0 to the Black Stars of Ghana, a result which put a lot of pressure on their shoulders heading to the final Group C match against Senegal, which they eventually won 2-0 to progress to the quarterfinals.

Their meeting against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire was a highly anticipated encounter as the two giants were set to eliminate each other.

Christian Gourcuff’s men did everything they could, but succumbed to Wilfried Bony’s brace and a solitary strike by Gervinho as they lost 3-1.
