Equatorial Guinea are set to make their fifth appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations after qualifying a distant second to Algeria in Group E with a record of two wins, two draws and two losses.

The National Thunder made their tournament debut as co-costs in 20212 when they reached the quarter-finals before performing even better three years later as the host nation by finishing fourth.

Guillermo Ganet replaced Juan Micha at the helm in a caretaker capacity in October 2025 and will guide the national team in Morocco as they look to maintain their record of progressing to the knockout stages on each occasion.

Emilio Nsue returns to the squad, having played no part in their qualifying campaign, but the experienced striker won the Golden Boot at the 2023 edition after top scoring with five goals. Other players to look out for are Iban Salvador and Luis Nlavo, who bagged two goals in qualifying.
