Tournament Review:

Equatorial Guinea put up their best performance in an Africa Cup of Nations tournament, reaching the semifinals in just their second appearance at the finals.

Nzalang Nacional came in the 2015 event under something of a cloud after hiring a new coach, Esteban Becker, just a couple of weeks before kick-off.

However, the Argentine successfully guided them through the group stage and then oversaw a controversial 2-1 win over Tunisia in the quarterfinals.

Ghana proved too strong for the home side in the semifinal (which was marred by poor behaviour from their supporters) and Equatorial Guinea were also defeated on penalties in the third-place playoff, but an appearance in the last four was a remarkable achievement considering they were the lowest ranked team heading into the tournament.
