Benin have made only three Africa Nations Cup finals appearances, all coming over the last ten years.
They made their tournament debut at the 2004 tournament in Tunisia where they lost all their Group D matches.
It was was the same thing in their second outing in Ghana in 2008 where they managed to score just one goal.
In 2010, they managed to pick up their only point to date in a 2-2 draw with Mozambique to finish third and bottom of Group C respectively and subsequently both exited the competition.
