Drawn in what is arguably the group of death, Germany will be looking to better their runners-up position at the last European Championships where they lost out to Spain in the final.
The first hurdle to climb will be making it out of the tough Group B which includes Portugal, Denmark, and fellow tournament favourites the Netherlands.
Germany is the most successful European Championship side they have won the tournament on three occasions.
