The team boasts former national team players in the likes of the late Director Chikumbudzi, late Zara Ramanoko, late Rio Maswabi and Cocorico Mmese.

Some of the BDF XI Sporting Club players who are still active are Modiri Marumo, who currently plies his trade at South African side Polokwane City, and Mompati Thuma, who was captain of the Zebras as they qualified for their maiden AFCON in 2012.
