Entente Setif

Algeria’s champions Entente Sportive de Sétif made their way through to the 2014 CAF Champions League’s Group stage without conceding a single goal.

The “Black Eagles” won their first battle against Steve Biko in the preliminary round without having to fire a shot with the forfeit of the Gambian outfit, and went on to defeat Burkina Faso’s ASFA Yennenga and Cameroon’s Coton Sport, scoring seven unanswered goals along the way.

Winners of the 1988 edition of the tournament under its previous format, the African Cup of Champions Clubs, ES Sétif are reaching this stage of the competition for the first time since 2010.

Coach Rabah Saâdane’s men were kicked out last year by Congo’s AC Léopards in the round of 16 of the previous campaign, before reaching the Group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup to finish at the bottom of their pool B.
